Growing up I always had a baby doll to love. My mother gave me a doll every year for Christmas until she passed away when I was fourteen years old. I now have a daughter of my own, and I love being able to continue the tradition my mother did for me.
I was also lucky enough to have had a mother who sewed. As a result, I always had the best dressed baby dolls. My mother sewed bunches of clothes to dress my babies in. I spent hours taking care of my dolls, dressing them, changing their diapers, wrapping them in blankets, and carefully laying their tiny plastic head on their little pillows.
I want that kind of a childhood not only for my own children, but for all children. Playing dolls encourages nurturing behavior in young children. It allows them to model the things they observe around them. And not just for little girls, but boys too. If you want your little one to be a good mommy or daddy some day, why not start practicing now?
I was frustrated that it is next to impossible to find doll clothing of any kind in stores, let alone cute, reasonably priced, quality baby doll clothes. And not everyone can sew their own, and even those who can don't always have the time. That is why I decided to provide a way for people to access good quality, homemade, adorable doll clothes.
